Island music for all occasions

John Rivera was born and raised on the west side of Kauai and has been singing since he was a child. He credits his love for music to his musically diverse family with whom he began harmonizing with in church as a young boy and who later taught him how to play the ukulele.

Having always loved to sing, John has dipped his finger into many musical pies performing as a solo artist, playing ukulele and singing lead vocals in island bands like Greenstone Project and Aloha Breeze, playing for international hula concerts,  as well as managing and promoting live music.

John's warm and soothing voice has been entertaining audiences for 15 years and has visitors to the beautiful island of Kauai seeking his next performance via "coconut wireless."  A lover of all musical genres, he enjoys singing both traditional and contemporary Hawaiian, R&B, Top 40, Folk, Island, and Reggae music. A sample of his musical influences include Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and Alicia Keys.

John currently performs at Keoki's Paradise in Koloa on Monday nights, Stevenson's Library at the Grand Hyatt on Wednesday and Sunday nights, Dukes Barefoot Bar in Lihue Thursdays and Fridays, and on the weekends for private parties and conventions.  He enjoys meeting people from all over the world and believes that aloha is contagious. John hopes to infect the world with aloha through his music.
